Questions and answers
Does Optus charge for roaming in Europe?
Yes, unless your plan includes it. The current Optus price list has paid options for Europe, shown in the table with source and date.
Can I use a travel eSIM with my Optus number?
Yes. Keep your Optus SIM for calls and texts and use the travel eSIM for data. Your phone needs to support eSIM and be unlocked.
Do I pay Optus anything when I use a travel eSIM?
Not for data, as long as data roaming is off on your Optus line. Calls and texts on your Optus number are charged as in its price list.
What if I forget to turn off roaming on Optus?
Then your Optus SIM can use data abroad at the Optus rates for that destination. Turn off data roaming for that line before you land.
