Questions and answers
Is roaming included with SoftBank?
Not in the standard plans of the SoftBank price list we checked. Abroad you pay a pass or a daily charge, shown in the table above.
Can I use a travel eSIM with my SoftBank number?
Yes. Keep your SoftBank SIM for calls and texts and use the travel eSIM for data. Your phone needs to support eSIM and be unlocked.
Do I pay SoftBank anything when I use a travel eSIM?
Not for data, as long as data roaming is off on your SoftBank line. Calls and texts on your SoftBank number are charged as in its price list.
What if I forget to turn off roaming on SoftBank?
Then your SoftBank SIM can use data abroad at the SoftBank rates for that destination. Turn off data roaming for that line before you land.
