Questions and answers
Does Telstra charge for roaming in Europe?
Yes, unless your plan includes it. The current Telstra price list has paid options for Europe, shown in the table with source and date.
Can I use a travel eSIM with my Telstra number?
Yes. Keep your Telstra SIM for calls and texts and use the travel eSIM for data. Your phone needs to support eSIM and be unlocked.
Do I pay Telstra anything when I use a travel eSIM?
Not for data, as long as data roaming is off on your Telstra line. Calls and texts on your Telstra number are charged as in its price list.
What if I forget to turn off roaming on Telstra?
Then your Telstra SIM can use data abroad, and without an add-on Telstra charges per MB. Turn off data roaming for that line before you land.
